One of the major benefits of this adaptive reuse of an office building is the ceiling heights that come with it. New residential Phoenix highrises have ceiling heights between eight and nine feet. Office buildings on the other hand have tall floor to floor heights to provide a few feet of interstitial space above the ceiling and below the structure of the floor above to accomodate central mechanical systems needed for commercial buildings. All that extra space has gone into the units to provide over eleven foot ceilings. The complete redesign of the building included reskinning the building with a more modern glass and natural aluminum curtain wall that reflects and compliments the color and feel of the light rail stations. The interior fit and finishs are tastfully clean and understated modern.
